Endodontic treatments in Nuneaton

Everything here deals with the inside of the tooth — inflamed or dead nerves, infection at the root, root fillings that have failed, cracks and injuries — and with the careful assessments that work out which of those is causing the trouble. Each page explains in plain English when the treatment helps, what the visit involves and what comes afterwards.

Treatments

Root canal treatment

Removes the inflamed or infected pulp from inside the tooth, disinfects the root canals and seals them — so the pain stops and the tooth stays in your mouth rather than in a bin.

Root canal retreatment

For a tooth whose earlier root filling has let infection back in: the old material comes out, missed or re-infected canals are treated and the tooth is sealed afresh.

Apicectomy (root-end surgery)

A small surgical procedure that removes a persistent pocket of infection from the tip of the root when it cannot be reached through the crown of the tooth.

Cracked tooth assessment

A sharp twinge when you bite often means a crack. Finding it, and judging how far it has travelled, decides whether the tooth can be protected, root-treated or should come out.

Dental injuries and trauma

A knocked, chipped, loosened or knocked-out tooth needs prompt care and patient follow-up, because the nerve inside an injured tooth can die quietly months after the accident.

Treatment for nervous patients

Frightened of the dentist? Root canal treatment paced by you, with the anaesthetic tested first, a signal that stops everything and a clinician trained in dental sedation.

Toothache assessment

Toothache is a poor guide to its own cause. A structured assessment works out which tooth is responsible and what it actually needs — which is sometimes nothing at all.

Tooth abscess and root infection

An abscess at the root is infection that antibiotics cannot reach. Cleaning and sealing the canal system removes its source, so the bone heals and the tooth can be kept.

Urgent endodontic care

Throbbing pain, a swelling or a tooth that wakes you at night is seen as a priority. Say your symptoms are urgent when you book and the pain is dealt with first.

Can my tooth be saved?

Before any tooth is taken out, it deserves a proper look. A careful assessment establishes whether it can be kept, what that would involve and how long it is likely to last.

How it works

One consultation, a written plan

Every patient starts with a consultation: your history, an examination, cold and bite tests and X-rays where needed. You leave with a written summary of the diagnosis, the recommended treatment, the realistic outlook for the tooth and the fee. Nothing is booked until you have decided to go ahead.

If your dentist has already examined the tooth, their findings are reviewed and they are told if ours differ. If you are in pain today, say so when you book — acute cases are seen first.
